Terms of Service
Box Office Watch is an independent box office reporting and analysis site run by TheHatefulN8. These terms cover your use of the site and, if you create one, your member account. By using the site you agree to them.
1. Who can have an account
You must be 13 or older to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission. One person, one account — accounts are personal and you may not sell or transfer yours.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure.
- Your username is public. It must not impersonate anyone, and we reserve a small set of names (staff, official, admin and similar).
- You can change your username once every 30 days.
- Tell us at once if you think someone else has access to your account.
3. What you post
Reviews, ratings and comments you write are yours. You keep ownership of them. By posting, you give Box Office Watch a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store and distribute that content on the site and in site communications such as the newsletter. That licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies already sent in emails or retained in backups until they expire.
Do not post anything that is:
- unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or threatening;
- sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualises minors in any way;
- spam, advertising, or automated bulk submissions;
- someone else's copyrighted work posted without permission;
- private information about another person.
We can remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we do not have to give notice before doing so.
4. Box office data and site content
Box office figures on this site are compiled from public sources including studio reports, trade publications and industry trackers. Estimates are estimates: they change, and they are sometimes wrong. Nothing here is financial advice, and you should not rely on it for investment or business decisions. Site design, written analysis and original graphics are the property of Box Office Watch. Film posters, backdrops and title artwork remain the property of their respective rights holders and are used for identification and commentary.
5. Availability
The site is provided "as is". We do not promise it will always be available, or that it will be free of errors. We may change or discontinue features, including account features, at any time.
6. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, the films you have logged, and your reviews and comments. We may close an account that breaks these terms.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Box Office Watch is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms.
